Indoor Climbing, Fitness & Yoga Facility Being Built in Fayetteville

Tennessee-based Climb Nashville, an indoor rock climbing and fitness facility, announced Thursday the company is partnering with Fayetteville businessman Dennis Nelms to bring a new location to Northwest Arkansas.

Climb Nashville currently has two locations in Nashville. The Fayetteville location, a 19,000-SF building with more than 16,000 SF of rock climbing terrain, will be built at 1475 W. Drake St. near Interstate 49. Nelms bought the 2.88-acre site in 2014 for $500,000.

The $3 million project is being financed by Arvest Bank of Fayetteville is expected to open later this year.

The design-build team is made up of local architects Audy Lack , Matt Hoffman and Shay Hawkins, of Miller, Boskus, Lack Architects PA; Scott Archer, Jeremy Calloway and Rob May of HSA Engineering Consultants, Heath Rheay and Mark Dillard of Kinco Constructors; Justin Jorgensen of Jorgensen and Associates; and Todd Robbins of Robbins Engineering.

Nelms began a passion for climbing in the Ozarks more than 20 years ago. He sees this balance of passion and business coming together in Climb Fayetteville.

“Climbing is a great way to stay in shape, increase flexibility and build strength,” he said. “It’s also a very social activity; I met my wife climbing. After meeting with the Climb Nashville Team, I knew this was a natural fit for me and for Northwest Arkansas.”

Climb Fayetteville will feature walls measuring as high as 45 feet vertically, built by industry leader Walltopia. The building’s two-story interior will include a workout room, yoga/fitness class space, restrooms, locker area, retail space and a kids’ climbing area.
