The Hive joins Arkansas Soybean Producers in statewide agriculture campaign
The Kitchen|Fields Table Tour, an educational program launched by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board (ASPB), is making its way to Northwest Arkansas to feature its next restaurant. The Hive, located in the 21c Museum Hotel, has partnered with ASPB to promote the Arkansas soybean industry.
The table tour was developed to encourage Arkansans to eat more soy foods and soy-fed protein, such as pork, beef and chicken. Consuming dishes that have a connection to soybeans is a simple way for Arkansans to support soybean farmers in the state.
The Hive restaurant will feature a soybean-inspired dish through March. Using local ingredients from Northwest Arkansas, Executive Chef Matt McClure has created a ricotta cavatelli with fresh soybeans, milled tomatoes, cured pork and hot pepper.
“The Kitchen|Fields Table Tour program speaks so much to The Hive’s desire to source local food. We are always looking to support the farms in our region which serves our ingredient-driven approach to cooking. I want The Hive’s menu to reflect the Arkansas food story, and soybeans are an integral part of Arkansas’ culinary identity,” said Matt McClure, executive chef at The Hive.
For the inaugural year of the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour, the ASPB has exclusively partnered with four Arkansas restaurants. During each restaurants’ three-month feature, a unique dish centered around soybeans is served. Through this program, the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board continues to educate and make Arkansans aware of the impact they have on our state’s $2 billion soybean industry.
The partner restaurants and feature schedule for the 2015-2016 Kitchen|Fields Table Tour includes: •South on Main, Little Rock: July-September, 2015
•J Town’s Grill, Jonesboro: October-December, 2015
•The Hive, Bentonville: January-March, 2016
