What got you pointed toward your current career? Visit Bentonville was an opportunity that was recommended by a family friend. It was everything I never knew I wanted in a career. Within days of starting as the president of Visit Bentonville, I realized that most of my past positions prepared me for the role in tourism and hospitality.
What aspects of your work do you find the most rewarding? Collaboration, hands down. I thrive on collaboration. When
a team comes together and ideas start flowing, I’m always amazed at the outcome.
What was your first job?My first real job was cleaning my dad’s office, Munson Chiropractic. My dad always looked for ways to teach us life lessons. He would place paper clips and rubber bands in areas that should be cleaned to confirm I did my job efficiently and effectively. I learned real quickly everything that was to be cleaned.
What one word best describes you?Gregarious.
What’s something interesting about you that people would be surprised to learn? Most people are surprised when they learn I worked for Disney. When I was in college I was afforded the opportunity to work as a lifeguard for Typhoon Lagoon, a Disney property. I swam with sharks and worked with people from all over the world. It was a great job for a college kid.
