United Bank of Springdale has hired Paige Mulhollan as its new senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Mulhollan comes to Northwest Arkansas after spending the last three decades in Arizona, where he served as a senior financial officer at several banking institutions. He was most recently a vice president with Phoenix-chartered Western Alliance Bancorp, holding company for the state’s largest bank (Western Alliance Bank), with assets of $13.8 billion, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Before that, Mulhollan was the CFO for three other community banks: Sears National Bank in Tempe (2001-2004), Western National Bank in Phoenix (2004-2005) and The Biltmore Bank of Arizona in Phoenix (2005-2014).

United Bank president and CEO Nathan Gairhan said Mulhollan has family ties to Northwest Arkansas. His parents, Dr. Paige Mulhollan and Mary Bess Mulhollan, retired to the area and were very involved in the community, most notably with the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. Mary Bess Mulhollan still lives in Fayetteville.

“I am excited about Paige joining the United Bank team,” Gairhan said. “We are very blessed to have someone with Paige’s experience level to join our UB family.”

Mulhollan’s banking career began in 1985 with Biltmore Investors Bank in Phoenix. He has an economics degree from the University of Oklahoma.

United Bank has been looking for a CFO since August, when longtime executive Greg Allen resigned to accept a job as vice president of finance with Rausch Coleman Homes of Fayetteville.

As of Sept. 30, according to the FDIC, United Bank had assets of $146.1 million, which ranked No. 62 out of 106 lenders based in Arkansas. The bank has two full-service branches in Springdale, one in Fayetteville and one in Rogers.
