Razorbacks Rebound Despite Low Reader Poll Confidence
After losing 28-21 in overtime to Texas A&M and starting the year 1-3, to quote former coach Danny Ford, it didn’t take a scientific rocket to see that the University of Arkansas football team was headed toward a disastrous season.
But what does a scientific rocket know? Disaster turned to delight in the weeks that followed, and the Razorbacks finished the regular season with a respectable 7-5 record, earning a matchup with Kansas State University in the Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2.
Which brings us to one of our nwabusinessjournal.com poll questions this year, posted on Sept. 28 and asking the question, “How many football games do you think the Razorbacks will win this season (including the Sept. 5 win against University of Texas at El Paso)?”
Out of 127 responses, 32 of you said Arkansas would end the year with just three wins. The next-best outcome, with 27 votes, was 4 wins and 22 voters indicated six wins would be the best the Hogs could do.
There were six votes cast for seven wins, and zero for eight wins.
