Newks Inks Deal for Space In Country Club Plaza
Jackson, Mississippi-based restaurant chain Newk’s Eatery has signed a 10-year lease to be the first tenant in the Country Club Plaza development that’s currently under construction in the Pinnacle Hills area of Rogers.
Newk’s will lease 4,375 SF in the 21,489 shopping center, which is at the southwest corner of the Pauline Whitaker Parkway roundabout near the front entrance to Pinnacle Country Club. The development is anchored by a 90,000-SF, three-story office building.
The restaurant is scheduled to open in the spring. The office building is expected to be complete by the second quarter of 2016 and the retail center is scheduled to open along with it.
Alan Cole, a principal at Colliers International in Bentonville, represented Newk’s and is the leasing agent for Country Club Plaza, which is being built by VCC of Little Rock.
“We’re delighted to welcome Newk’s as a tenant to Country Club Plaza,” Cole said. “Our adjoining office building tenant roster continues to expand and Newk’s will be a great convenience for everyone working, shopping and living nearby. We’re thrilled to have them on board.”
Cole said he has working letters of intent in place for an additional 11,000 SF in the retail center. The office building, Cole said, is approximately 50 percent pre-leased.
Jim Lynch is the local Newk’s franchisee. He opened the restaurant’s first location in Northwest Arkansas in 2014 at 637 E. Joyce Blvd. in Fayetteville in the Spring Creek Centre development.
