Sharks and summits fill up the Startup/Technology roundup
Three events take center stage this week in Central Arkansas and one in Northwest Arkansas next week.
The Delta Entrepreneurship Network is conducting a Delta Challenge Pitch Competition at the Venture Center in downtown Little Rock on Nov. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. Winners get a chance to pitch at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week.
This weekend is the 2 Days to Startup hosted by the Venture Center and held at the University of Arkansas Little Rock EIT Building. The two-day startup bootcamp takes place starting at 6 p.m., Nov. 6 and concludes Sunday evening (Nov. 8) at 8 p.m. The event is similar to a startup weekend. According to the Venture Center website, “At the end of the weekend, there are “Shark Tank style pitches, feedback from judges, voting and the spoils of victory.”
On Sunday, the 5th annual School Without Walls Conference will begin in Hot Springs at the Convention Center. The event is from Nov. 8-9 and teachers will be exploring “Tinkering with Innovative Tech.” The conference is a STEM/STEM and technology based conference that helps teachers with learning initiatives in a digital age.
Finally, the NWA Tech Summit will take place on Nov. 10 in Rogers. The all-day event will bring together ideas in innovation, technology and business for business people in Northwest Arkansas. The event is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes breakout sessions. Several companies will have thought leaders represented including Walmart, Sam’s Club, AT&T, RevUnit, Rockfish, Movista, Phyzit, Hayseed Ventures and many more.
