Hutchinson to Headline Rogers-Lowell Chambers Annual Meeting
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson will be the keynote speaker next year at the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting.
The 94th annual meeting is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 27, at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers. The meeting of more than 1,000 business leaders celebrates accomplishments of the previous year, honors outstanding businesses and individuals and sets the tone for the coming business year.
Gov. Hutchinson, who was born in Bentonville and graduated from Springdale High School, rode a GOP tidal wave to become only the fourth Republican in the last 140 years to be elected governor of Arkansas. He was elected Arkansas’ 46th governor in November 2014, becoming the first governor-elect to be born in Benton County.
Hutchinson, 64, is a former Third District Congressman, and had previously been 0-for-3 in statewide campaigns, losing races for the U.S. Senate (1986), attorney general (1990) and governor (2006).
The annual meeting includes a reception, dinner featuring the keynote speaker and annual awards presentations.
