Techtober This Week, With G60 Pitch Contests Set To Begin
Techtober continues this week with several events at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, the Venture Center and a couple of G60 Startup Pitch contests.
Scott Jones, Nishad Karekar, and Frank Ledo will join the Code•IT! crowd to discuss five popular NoSql databases. The three Acxiom architects will discuss Aerospike, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Mongo, and Redis in a timeframe of 25 minutes.
The program will be 6 to 7 p.m., Oct. 27, at the Venture Center, 107 Markham St., Little Rock. The program is free and attendees can register at the Venture Center website. Appetizers and drinks will be provided.
The Maker’s Ball will begin at 7 p.m., Oct. 30 at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub in North Little Rock. The event is a fundraiser for the Hub and a “grown up” costume party. Hub attendees have been working on their costumes for the better part of a month starting with the September Make It Sew event and will be eager to show off their creations. The Maker Ball is set to end around 11 p.m. and will include live music and food.
The G60 Pitch Contest provided by Winrock International and Startup Junkie will make two stops in the next couple of weeks. The first contest is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., Oct. 30, at Hickingbotham Hall, on the campus Ouachita Baptist University. Registration for the Arkadelphia event can be found here.
The next G60 Pitch Contest will be noon to 1 p.m., Nov. 5, at the Hot Springs Convention Center. The event is part of the Hot Springs Business Fest. Those interested can register here.
The G60 Pitch Contest is a pitch contest for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. Each contest awards two $1,000 prizes. Various angel investors, business leaders and entrepreneurs attend the event giving contestants an opportunity to get their ideas in front of influencers.
