DataRank CEO: Simply Measured Pairing A Great Fit, Perfect Timing
DataRank was acquired by a fellow social analytics company, Seattle-based Simply Measured, the Fayetteville startup announced Oct. 13.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but DataRank co-founder and CEO Ryan Frazier said its headquarters and the majority of its staff will remain local.
“So much of our success has been driven by the people and resources in this area,” he said. “We want to continue to invest here, give back to the community, and ultimately continue to have a strong and growing presence here in Northwest Arkansas.”
The only Arkansas graduate of the seed accelerator Y-Combinator in California, DataRank was founded four years ago.
Until the Simply Measured deal emerged, acquisition was not on the immediate agenda, Frazier said.
“We were not strongly considering going the route of an acquisition at this stage of the company, but we felt that the mission and culture of Simply Measured were so aligned with our own, that it gave us confidence that this would be a great fit and that the timing was perfect,” he said.
The deal marks the second acquisition from Simply Measured in the last two months. It bought fellow Seattle-based firm Inside Social in September.
DataRank adds a social intelligence technology piece to Simply Measured’s offerings, while Inside Social provides social attribution and social ROI, according to the Simply Measured blog.
Frazier said he is ready to do business with the company.
“We can now focus on building the future of marketing analytics for millions of marketers,” he said.
