Buffalo Wild Wings Relocating in Fayetteville
Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, which opened in Fayetteville at 32 W. Joyce Blvd. in Dec. 2005, is gearing up to build a free-standing eatery across the street from its existing location in the Joyce Plaza retail shopping center.
A joint venture has paid $675,000 for a 1.71-acre lot at the southeast corner of Steele and East Joyce boulevards, next to Taziki’s Mediterranean Café.
The site will be developed into a 5,600-SF restaurant for BWW, with construction scheduled to begin next week.
The developers are Drew Snyder of Woodsonia Real Estate Inc. of Omaha, Nebraska, and Michael Lightman Sr. of Michael Lightman Realty Co. of Memphis, Tennessee.
Lightman is the owner of Malco Theatres Inc., the entity that sold the property. It is adjacent to the Malco Razorback Cinema.
Little Rock-based commercial real estate firm Irwin Partners represented Malco in the property sale.
Snyder said he is hopeful the $2.5 million project will be completed in the second quarter of 2016. Once finished, BWW will relocate to the new building, which will be leased to local franchisees John Bliss and Paul Nelson. They also own locations in Bentonville and Springdale.
Jim Wood Co. of Little Rock will be the general contractor on the Fayetteville project.
At its present location, BWW occupies 6,948-SF of a 32,984-SF building that also houses a 10,500-SF Party City retail store. That property is owned by Joyce Plaza LLC, an entity controlled by commercial real estate firm Rector Phillips Morse Inc. of Little Rock.
BWW leases the space at $15.75 per SF.
Snyder said this is his first development work in Arkansas, adding that the company is also close to finalizing a land purchase to develop a BWW in Bryant in central Arkansas. That site is just off the Alcoa Road exit of Interstate 30.
BWW was founded in 1982, went public in 2003, and is headquartered in Minneapolis. The company has 1,129 locations throughout the country.
