Design Firm Mark Zweig Inc. Remodels, Leases Building

Home design and construction firm Mark Zweig Inc. of Fayetteville finished its two-year project to renovate the dilapidated building at 1200 N. College Ave., and now leases it to another Mark Zweig enterprise, the Zweig Group, a support firm for the architecture, engineering and environmental consulting industries.

Zweig bought the 6,619-SF building for $350,000 in November 2013 from Clark Long & Associates Real Estate & Insurance LLC. The building had been vacant for years.

Zweig said the renovation was thorough — over $1 million in improvements — and includes surround sound, tin ceilings, industrial lighting, retro cabinetry, large windows, a custom conference table, and a gong that’s used to herald the procurement of new contracts.

Zweig also made extensive upgrades to the parking lot.

“We’re glad we’re in,” Zweig said. “We wanted to be close to downtown, and where else are you going to get 7,000 square feet?”

Nearly 30 employees work in the new space. The Zweig Group’s offices were formerly located at 38 W. Trenton Blvd.
