Crystal Bridges Eclipses Threshold of 2 Million Visitors
Officials at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville said Tuesday the museum has welcomed more than 2 million visitors since opening Nov. 11, 2011.
This includes 89,000 students that have participated in the School Visit program, more than 200,000 participants in lectures, performances, classes or other public programs and 175,000 visitors worldwide who view art in the permanent collection galleries and a range of temporary exhibitions. In addition, more than 240,000 visitors enjoy the museum’s 3.5 miles of art trails every year.
“As we approach our fourth year, we are grateful for the outpouring of support for the museum and excited to share this moment with the two million visitors who have made this museum so meaningful,” Rod Bigelow, Crystal Bridges executive director, said in a news release. “The museum has become a destination within our region as well as for art lovers from around the world who have experienced art and architecture in our natural setting.”
Throughout the month of September, Crystal Bridges is celebrating the attendance milestone with its “2 Million and You” program, thanking the community with offerings such as yard signs, a memory booth located in the main lobby, two months of free membership, free admission to current exhibitions and a 10 percent discount on Crystal Bridges branded items.
