CEO Marge Wolf Leaving NWA Food Bank

Have you heard president and CEO Marge Wolf is retiring from the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank?

She will leave the Bethel Heights-based nonprofit, which she has led since 2008, at the end of the year.

Wolf said she plans to use the opportunity to “enjoy life” a bit more, and that the timing is right.

“The food bank is in a good place, so a new person won’t have to really fix any problems. They can come in and continue to move it forward,” she said.

Wolf said “slowing down” has been a goal of hers for several years. Meanwhile, the food bank has only continued to grow, with the introduction of additional programs — including the Senior Mobile Pantry — under her leadership.

No successor has been named to lead the food bank, which says it provided 7.2 million pounds of food to individuals in Washington, Benton, Carroll and Madison counties in 2014.

“We talk about curing hunger, but unfortunately I don’t think the NWA Food Bank is going out of business any time soon,” Wolf said.

She intends to continue her career as an alderman for the city of Rogers.
