Carol Schumacher named board trustee at St. Bonaventure University
The former investor relations officer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Carol Schumacher of Rogers, has been named as a board trustee for St. Bonaventure University, her alma meter.
Schumacher will serve a three-year term for the private college located in upstate New York.
She recently left her post at Wal-Mart and is the new head of corporate affairs at Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, based in Atlanta. She served as the global investor relations officer for Wal-Mart for more than a decade. Prior to that she led corporate affairs for Kerr-McGee Corporation and Home Depot.
Schumacher graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1978 with a degree in journalism and earned a master’s degree in communications from Rowan University.
She served as a member of St. Bonaventure’s National Alumni Board from 1988 to 1996, including service as board president from 1994 to 1996, and was honored as "Alumna of the Year" in 1998. She is a current member of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Advisory Council.
Schumacher and her husband, Bob Kelly, live in Rogers and have a son, Garrett.
