Arkansas Cherry Dames To Speak At 1 Million Cups
The Arkansas Cherry Dames will be speaking at 1 Million Cups Little Rock this week. Talk Business & Politics’ Todd Jones was able to catch up with Jessica Wade and Tasha Harvey, founders of the Dames, who shared more about the Dames and their mission. Harvey answered the questions, while Wade gave a little insight.
According to Wade, “We are a 1950 women’s empowerment group. We raise money in our community for charity and help women be better women. We use tools of confidence to help them love themselves. More to be better women for their family, work, their men. All in all, helping ladies in central Arkansas while bettering our community.”
The ladies can be seen at various events throughout Central Arkansas interacting with all types of ladies to promote their empowerment.
TB&P: Can you tell us a little more about the mission of the Arkansas Cherry Dames?
Arkansas Cherry Dames: As I am sure you have noticed, the way women present themselves has taken a hit as far as standards go. You add the occasional bad day, stress of life and daily challenges, women lose their sense of self-worth and energy. The Cherry Dames are on a mission to write these wrongs, to offer that get away, that boost of energy and self-confidence that one can only get from surrounding themselves with positive people.
On top of this newfound sense of self, you find yourself wanting to help influence others and help your community, so we channel this energy towards our local charities to pay it forward, all the while growing as individuals. Let the Cherry Dames help you help others by being ladies while showing our inner bombshells!
TB&P: What kind of response have you had from the community?
Arkansas Cherry Dames: Ever since we started, our support system has been there. We have a following like no other, ranging from children to the elderly. Businesses and social clubs call on a regular basis to have us at their events because we come with a posse.
Our group is driven and populated by the community, without it our group wouldn’t have any women in it. Our interaction is solidified by our community, especially when it comes to our charities we choose to support. Everything we do elicits an emotional response, without that emotion we wouldn’t have focus. Without our community we would be nothing but a few women playing dress up.
TB&P: What is the one takeaway you would like to leave the 1 Million Cups crowd with?
Arkansas Cherry Dames: We want you to leave with a drive to further your community. We want you to take a page from our book and harness that inner bombshell. You don’t have to be a female to benefit from that boundary crossing, ground shaking thing that is confidence, a higher sense of self. Your community needs you and you can help by being apart or supporting the Dames.
If you need help we will bring the workers, if you have an event we will promote it, if you need help or a listening ear or large group of wonderful ladies will help you deal with the burden. When it’s all said and done, the group that is the Arkansas Cherry Dames is one built upon sisterhood as a foundation and one-love as the cherry on top. Help us help everyone!
