Venture Center To Host ‘2 Days To Startup’
The Little Rock Venture Center will host “2 Days to Startup” from Aug. 21-23 to allow potential entrepreneurs an opportunity to start a business that may have been in the “stewing phase” for some time.
“Two Days to Startup is a high-energy, intense weekend event that allows entrepreneurs, developers, engineers and professionals to work in teams on real-world projects,” said Steve Rice, the Venture Center’s director of digital strategy and membership. “At the beginning of the event, attendees can ‘pitch’ a project they want to work on for others to join their team for the weekend.”
All participants from the center’s recent Pitch ‘N Pint event received tickets to attend the “2 Days” event to further explore their ideas. Corporate sponsors will also be present to offer real world problems that participants can work on together.
“In addition, our corporate partners will provide real-world projects for teams to work on and developing solutions,” Rice added. “Also, our local university partners will provide research that teams can work with to develop ideas on how the research could be commercialized.”
The three-day event will be held at the Venture Center headquarters in downtown Little Rock with food and drinks provided for participants. In addition, prizes will be awarded for the top projects and participants will be invited to take part in the upcoming Pre-Accelerator class. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Aug. 21, and ends on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Early bird tickets are $45 through Aug. 7, and $75 thereafter. The student rate is $25.
