Dianne Curry To Challenge For Second District Congressional Seat
On Wednesday, Democrat Dianne Curry announced she will run for the U.S. Congress in District 2, the seat currently held by first-term Cong. French Hill, R-Little Rock.
No other Democrats have announced for the seat.
Curry was elected to the Little Rock School Board in 2006 where she served three terms. She retired from state government after 27 years of service in education and the public audit of banks.
She was appointed to the Arkansas Division of Volunteerism by Gov. Mike Huckabee and reappointed by Gov. Mike Beebe. Curry now works with small business owners and families as a tax consultant.
Curry briefly flirted with a Second District Congressional bid and a run for Lt. Governor in 2014, but she did not ever enter either race.
A native of Malvern she now lives with her daughter and grandson in Little Rock. She’s an active member of Union A.M.E. Church in Little Rock, according to her web site’s bio.
