Only In Arkansas: Fishing The Little Red
Lots of Arkansas families will take fishing trips before the end of summer. The Natural State offers 9,700 miles of fishable streams and rivers, 600,000 acres of lakes, numerous bayous, creeks and sloughs, providing anglers the chance to land a trophy or catch a limit from a variety of freshwater species, according to the Department of Parks and Tourism.
Our content partner, OnlyinArkansas.com, features writer Julie Kohl as she and her husband spent a day on the Little Red River with a fishing guide…
The morning air was cool and crisp but gave us the feeling that it was going to be a scorcher. I was excited but also nervous as we pulled up to meet Beau. Beau Saunders has been fishing the Little Red for more than 25 years. Beau’s Guide Service has been in operation less than a year, but his years of experience on the river make Beau the perfect guide. He greeted us heartily, and I knew immediately that he was there to help make the day both fun and successful.
