FFO Moving Headquarters to Fort Smith
Furniture Factory Outlet will relocate to Fort Smith, in the property that once housed the Whirlpool distribution center.
FFO, formerly based in Muldrow, Oklahoma, announced on July 7 plans to move its corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations to the Spartan Logistics building on Jenny Lind Road.
The new office will bring 64 new, full-time jobs to Fort Smith, according to an FFO press release.
“Moving our operations to Fort Smith provides the strategic foundation for our aggressive long-term growth plans and further builds on our commitment to Arkansas,” said Larry Zigerelli, FFO president and CEO.
FFO will occupy 180,000 SF of the 618,000-SF property.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson attended a press conference at the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce, announcing the move.
“It’s always encouraging to have a company decide to locate a corporate headquarters in Arkansas,” Hutchinson said. “Companies from across the U.S. and internationally realize that our central location and versatile workforce make Arkansas an ideal destination.”
Tim Allen, president and CEO of the Fort Smith chamber, expressed his gratitude for those who made the relocation possible.
“Two bold moves led by two outstanding companies put this project in motion. In 2014, Spartan Logistics made a bold move to acquire and repurpose the former Whirlpool Distribution facility for their growing operations. Today, FFO Home made another bold move by locating their corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations in the Spartan Logistics building,” he said.
“The Chamber also worked hand in hand with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and Mr. Bob Cooper with R.H. Ghan & Cooper Commercial Properties to make this project a reality for Fort Smith,” Allen said.
FFO has had a presence in Arkansas since 1984 when it opened its first store in Fort Smith on Rogers Avenue, according to the press release.
Today, the company owns and operates 36 retail stores throughout the country, including 17 in Arkansas.
