Quadrivium Aims for More Power, Efficiency With Data Center Upgrade
Specialized data solutions company Quadrivium Inc. of Springdale will mark its 15th anniversary with what it’s calling a grand re-opening, unveiling $750,000 in upgrades to its 4,000-SF data center in Green Forest.
The revamp, for which the company used all local contractors, includes two new generators and a complete electrical overhaul, featuring more power and higher-quality power to the data center, Bell said. Its HVAC system also got an age upgrade and an efficiency upgrade, new cameras and security features have been installed, and the company adopted a cold aisle-contained chilling system that Bell estimates will offer 20 percent more efficiency.
General upgrades to the building include new epoxy floor coating and a resealed moisture barrier behind the walls.
Bell and Brent Obana, director of sales, co-founded Quadrivium as an IT services company on June 5, 2000.
A few years later, the company expanded to spam filtering, now hosting about a quarter-million filterings a day, Obana said.
From there, Quadrivium started hosting email and then off-site backup, now offering shared hosting on a virtual private cloud.
Bell said the company is unique for its highly customized services and for the extra security offered by owning its own data center, rather than renting a rack at one.
