Nicholas Norfolk: My Favorite TED Talk
We’re going to try a new experiment here at Talk Business & Politics to hear from you about your favorite TED talks over the years.
As we’ve reported earlier, Little Rock will be hosting a TED talk in July and the international group whose mission is to share “ideas worth spreading” just celebrated its 2000th video.
First up in this series: Nicholas Norfolk, the founder and owner of Connecting Dots Media, or CDots Media. Norfolk is an Arkansas entrepreneur who is very active in the startup community in Central Arkansas.
Norfolk explained that his favorite TED talk was by Sir Ken Robinson. Robinson has more than one, and, actually, he had one of the first to be posted back in 2006.
The one that Norfolk referenced was the talk, “Bring on the learning revolution!” This one was posted in 2010 and you can watch it at the bottom of this post.
Norfolk said his favorite quote from the 2010 video was: “It’s about passion. Often, people are good at things they don’t really care for. It’s about passion, and what excites our spirit and our energy. And if you’re doing the thing that you love to do, that you’re good at, time takes a different course entirely.”
What is your favorite TED talk? What did you learn?
Let me know!
