Edward Haddock has been named deputy district director of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Arkansas District Office.

The agency is charged with helping boost economic development across the state by ensuring the delivery of SBA’s loan programs and business development services. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Haddock comes with an extensive background in marketing, finance and strategic planning.

“Edward’s strong leadership, outreach skills and creative talents in the Arkansas District have elevated him to a new position as Deputy Director,” said Regional Administrator Yolanda Garcia Olivarez, who heads SBA Region VI. Haddock started his SBA career in Newark, New Jersey, where he was responsible for economic development across the northern New Jersey metropolitan area.

His roles included Veterans Business Development, Women’s Business Center Representative and International Trade Counselor.

Additionally, he had first level oversight responsibilities for four Small Business Development Centers administered by Rutgers University, one SBA-funded Women’s Business Center and four chapters of the SCORE Business Counselors, a volunteer organization that provides free business counseling.

Prior to working for the Small Business Administration, held leadership roles in small businesses and was the executive director of a nonprofit organization. During his active duty military career, Haddock held positions in maintenance operations, training and finance. His deployments include multiple combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan and throughout the world.
