Denso Corp. officials said Tuesday that the Japanese auto parts giant has received Ford Motor Co.’s coveted Aligned Business Framework (ABF) award for its full line up of compressors and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) assemblies and modules.

The award was announced at Ford’s 17th World Excellence Awards ceremony in late May where Denso was one of nine suppliers to receive annual honor. Ford also honored Denso affiliate Michigan Automotive Compressor Inc. (MACI) with the “Silver Award” as one of the company’s highest recognitions for a supplier – which marks the second time in six years MACI has received a world excellence award.

“Denso places a great emphasis on providing innovative and high quality products, and this award helps demonstrate our commitment to those goals,” said Haruya Maruyama, executive vice president of Denso Japan. “We want to congratulate all of our employees who helped earn this award, and we look forward to meeting high quality standards with our products in the future.”

Osceola-based Denso Manufacturing Arkansas, which has nearly 500 employees, is part of the Denso Manufacturing Michigan Inc. (DMMI). Currently, Denso’s 225,000 square foot manufacturing plant in the Arkansas Delta produces HVAC assemblies and next-generation module radiators for its North American customers, including Ford, Toyota, Honda and Caterpillar.

The World Excellence Awards honor production and non-production suppliers that have exceeded Ford’s highest standards in cost, quality, technology and delivery, while at the same time embracing the ONE Ford mindset and helping the company deliver products with an unparalleled standard of excellence. Ford honored 32 suppliers out of their top 150 global suppliers at its annual recognition event.

The Aligned Business Framework is a program where Ford and some of the most strategic suppliers across the globe partner to increase mutual profitability, improve quality, drive innovation and to help encourage shared commitment to sustainability goals.

In North America, Denso had sales of $8 billion in fiscal 2014, and employed more than 17,000 people at 33 consolidated companies and affiliates. Currently, there are 28 manufacturing facilities located in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. In the U.S. alone, DENSO has over 14,000 employees in Arkansas, California, Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
