Dina Howell told the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal on Friday that she is retiring as worldwide CEO of Springdale-based Saatchi & Saatchi X, effective July 1.

The internal announcement was made Thursday, and a formal announcement by the company is expected Monday.

Howell was named worldwide CEO in 2010, replacing Andy Murray. Before that, she worked for 22 years as vice president of global media and brand operations at Procter & Gamble.

Howell will be replaced by Jessica Hendrix, who will report to Saatchi & Saatchi worldwide CEO Robert Senior. Howell will stay on during the transition period.

“I’m incredibly honored to follow in the footsteps of Andy Murray and Dina Howell, the true pioneers in shopper marketing,” Hendrix said. “As leaders in the shopper marketing space, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help create the next chapter for Saatchi & Saatchi X — one of continued innovation and working with the best talent in the industry.”

Hendrix, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 class in 2011, has been with Saatchi & Saatchi X since 2007, most recently serving as senior vice president and account lead.
