Bentonville Company to Open Vietnamese Trade Office
Made in USA Works is subleasing part of its 5,000-SF office in the Bentonville Plaza to open a trade office for Tinnghia Corp., a furniture manufacturer located in the Dong Nai Province of Vietnam.
The company will move its assembly processes to that office.
A grand opening event is set for June 30 at 2 p.m. on the north lawn of the plaza at 609 S.W. Eighth St.
Made in USA Works opened June 17 of last year, as a resource for companies looking to reshore manufacturing and assembly of products to the United States.
More recently, the company expanded its offerings to include marketing and selling made-in-America products to retailers, especially Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
Chris Neeley, former home region director of the Walmart Made in the USA initiative, founded Made in USA Works with Little Rock attorney and Arkansas Economic Development commissioner Mike Roberts.
Rogers attorney and son of Gov. Asa Hutchinson, Asa Hutchinson III, serves as vice president of global business development for the company, and former Gov. Mike Beebe joined the firm earlier this year as senior vice president of business development.
Former Greek ambassador Dimitrios Tsikouris serves as foreign affairs adviser for the company.
Neeley said the new trade office is just the beginning of the advances in trade facilitation that will be done in the region.
“This is big,” he said. “There will be a lot more to come. We’re sort of planting the flag.”
