J.B. Hunt Named Sams Club Carrier of the Year for 2014

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. announced March 31 that it received the 2014 Sam’s Club Inc. Carrier of the Year award.

J.B. Hunt has partnered with Sam’s Club and its parent company, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., for more than 30 years, according to a press release from the transportation company.

Walmart recognized 16 transportation companies as Walmart Carriers of the Year. In addition to Sam’s Club Carrier of the Year, categories included grocery, general merchandise, strength through partnership, intermodal and small parcel.

President and CEO John Roberts said in a statement, “We are proud to continue cultivating this valued partnership and evolving with Walmart’s vision. We strive to be dynamic and flexible for any transportation challenge or requirement.”

“Walmart and Sam’s Club are fortunate to have strategic partnerships with great transportation companies that assist us in achieving our goal of everyday low costs. In turn, we are able to translate the efficiencies into everyday low prices for our customers,” said Kevin Jones, vice president of inbound transportation for Walmart.
