Department Of Education Says Suggs Out As LRSD Superintendent
After a weekend of silence over allegations regarding potential plagiarism, Little Rock School District superintendent Dr. Dexter Suggs has resigned.
Blue Hog Report and KATV News have both reported on allegations that Suggs plagiarized his dissertation.
Today, Arkansas Education Commissioner Johnny Key said the department has reached an agreement with Suggs that resulted in him resigning immediately. Marvin Burton will serve as interim superintendent for the Little Rock School District, Key said.
“The Arkansas Department of Education will work with the Little Rock School District to provide the high level of educational services required by the Arkansas Constitution. Through this period of transition, we will work in a collaborative way with teachers, administrators, staff, and the community,” Key said.
