Crain Automotive Purchases Volkswagen NWA

Crain Automotive Holdings of Sherwood is beefing up its presence in the Northwest Arkansas market. The company, which owns Crain Buick GMC in Springdale and Crain Hyundai locations in Fayetteville and Bentonville, recently added the Volkswagen NWA franchise to its collection.

It plans to move the dealership, now located in Rogers, to Springdale for two years and to eventually build a new store down the street from the new Crain Hyundai location, just off Interstate 49 in Fayetteville.

Future plans include opening an additional dealership somewhere in Benton County, according to Crain systems administrator Danny McGinley.

Crain purchased Volkswagen NWA from Bryan Hunt, son of the late trucking magnate J.B. Hunt. His Hunt Automotive Group of Springdale includes several dealerships.

Financial terms of the Volkswagen purchase were not disclosed.
