Animal Health Products Maker Launches New Product
Fayetteville-based Pacific Vet Group, a company that makes health products for the poultry and livestock industries, recently launched FloraStart C, a probiotic product designed to combat side-effects of vaccinations that prevent parasitic intestinal disease in newborn chickens.
The vaccine for coccidiosis can cause early performance setbacks for baby chickens, according to a news release from Pacific Vet Group.
FloraStart C is designed to help chicks achieve optimum early growth and contains a specialized blend of beneficial bacteria, each chosen for its ability to support performance following coccidiosis vaccination, David Benson, vice president of sales and marketing for Pacific Vet Group, said in the news release.
Trials conducted at the University of Arkansas this year demonstrated that FloraStart C is effective with any of the commonly used Eimeria vaccines, Benson said.
FloraStart C is administered at the hatchery via a proprietary coarse spray application methodology designed to reduce chilling, according to the news release.
