Walton College Dean Eli Jones Leaving Arkansas For Texas A&M

Eli Jones, dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business, has accepted a position as dean of the Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, the University of Arkansas announced on Tuesday.

Jones has been dean of the Walton College since 2012.

“Sincerely, the great people here and the positive momentum of the Walton College and the entire region made my decision to leave this institution tough,” Jones said in a UA press release. “The University of Arkansas is a great institution, and the Walton College has such dedicated people.

“However, I have the opportunity to go home and be physically closer to my family while working for my alma mater,” he said.

Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism, his MBA and his PhD in marketing, all from Texas A&M.

A timeline for the search for a new dean has not yet been established, according to the press release.
