NAME CHANGE GIVES STARTUP ‘MOVE MAKEUP’ NEW MOMENTUM
Move Makeup Chief Executive Leah Patterson literally has a product that could change the face of women in the competitive personal care and makeup industry. Yet, she readily admits that her company couldn’t get much traction in the past because of its former name.

Formerly Etniq Mineral Cosmetics, Patterson said she recently changed the name of her company to “Move Makeup” because the previous moniker created confusion about the product and prevented her from effectively marketing her natural, “sweat-proof” makeup product line. SIRIUSXM TO BROADCAST PROGRAM FOR EARLY-STAGE STARTUP, TECH FIRMS
SiriusXM is launching a weekly show broadcast live from Silicon Valley that will offer listeners of the national satellite radio stories and practical advice from founders of early-stage startup tech companies and success-focused investors.

The new show, hosted from San Francisco with Y Combinator partner Aaron Harris, launches on Wednesday, March 11, exclusively on on SiriusXM’s business radio channel, which features some of the most successful and creative leaders of the business world.

ENTREPRENEUR DEREGULATION BILL FILED
A bill that would study the impact that regulations have on small businesses and entrepreneurs was filed Tuesday by Rep. Bill Gossage, R-Ozark. Among the ideas expressed in the bill are requiring state agencies to hold public meetings in each of the state’s four congressional districts each quarter to gather information about “the obstacles and challenges the government agency causes for small business and entrepreneurs.”

DELTA CHALLENGE SPARKS IDEAS AT JONESBORO FORUM
There were ten different groups that presented ideas during the 1st annual Delta Challenge at the Arkansas State University Delta Center for Economic Development. The program, sponsored by the Delta Regional Authority, gives budding entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their ideas with a chance to participate in the New Orleans Entrepreneur Week event March 25-27.
