The 160-acre tract at Napier and Campbell roads in Greenland was recently purchased for $815,000 by the Marvin E. and Anne P. Beck Living Trust of Bastrop, Texas.

According to the Multiple Listing Service, the tract is only the second to sell in Greenland in the last year. The other was a three-acre piece that went for $16,000.

The Napier-Campbell property was a foreclosure with Simmons First National Bank and had been on the market for years. Real estate broker Clinton Bennett of CBRE-Northwest Arkansas had the listing.

Bennett said he did not know if the buyer had specific plans for the property.

In the mid-2000s, a 550-home development called Greenland Hills was planned for the property, but the proposed subdivision by developer John Nock went bust in the Great Recession. The property went into foreclosure in 2009.
