Cotton Rohrscheib, COO of Grainster, announced today that his firm has been in talks with Farm at Hand Software of Vancouver, British Columbia and the two companies have formed a “mutually beneficial strategic partnership,” according to the Grainster blog.

The partnership will explore the integration of their two platforms to form a comprehensive farm management-grain marketing platform.

Arkansas-based Grainster.com is a private marketplace that allows farmers and grain brokers to do business. A user creates an account, edits his profile, and then has access to view offers, add offers or search for buyers or sellers of commodities.

“I can’t think of another solution on the market right now that will allow the farmer to manage his entire farm year from planting to marketing. By forming an API partnership with Farm at Hand, their users will eventually have access to our grain trading platform and obviously our users would certainly benefit from their cloud based management application,” said Rohrscheib.

“We could not be more excited to partner with Himanshu and Kim and their company, we’ve been following them for a while now and knew all along that we’d like to eventually form some kind of strategic partnership with them eventually,” added Layne Fortenberry, Grainster CEO.

“Obviously by giving each other exposure in our applications it helps us both pick up market share but the real winner is the farmer,” said Rohrscheib.

Farm At Hand is the latest innovation in farm management software and products. Farm At Hand is available as an app for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad tablet, or at www.FarmAtHand.com, compatible with any computer and smartphone device.

Rohrscheib and Fortenberry said Farm At Hand’s mobility and no-cost expense is what makes the product different.

“Farm At Hand is an integrated cloud-based farm management platform that allows you to manage your entire operation from seed to sale, anywhere, anytime,” they said.

Currently Farm at Hand has an estimated 20,000 users.
