Centennial Bank of Conway has named Chris Barton as its new president for the Bentonville and Rogers market.

Barton has more than 14 years of financial experience and most recently served as vice president of commercial lending for Simmons First National Bank.

At Centennial, he replaces Matt Hicks, who was named Northwest Arkansas market manager last fall for Great Southern Bank.

“Chris brings a strong network and financial background that will take our Rogers/Bentonville markets to the next level,” Northwest Arkansas division president Scott Hancock said in a news release. “Our customers and bankers will appreciate the strong leadership that he brings to our organization.”

Barton graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in marketing management, and also graduated from the Commercial Lending School at Southern Methodist University.

He is scheduled to complete the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in June.

Barton is a community leadership council member for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to low-income single parents pursuing career-related education.

Barton will be located in Centennial Bank’s 4000 W. Walnut St. banking center in Rogers.
