Marketing agency WhyteSpyder is changing up how it conducts client meetings outside of its Fayetteville base, by moving them to a renovated 27-foot 1976 Airstream Overlander trailer.

The company started using what it calls the Mobile Marketing Meeting Machine shortly after the lease on its Bentonville location expired, but CEO and senior consultant Eric Howerton said the new mobile meeting space is more about flipping the script in the marketing industry than about replacing the Benton County location, although it is being used as a temporary fix while the company finds a new space.

So far, clients are responding with excitement, Howerton said. “It’s a really great icebreaker and also provides a very comfortable setting for meetings.”

WhyteSpyder has invested about $25,000 so far, gutting the vehicle and installing new flooring, lighting and custom wood benches and conference table. The trailer is fully electric and equipped with a portable heater, air conditioner, flat-screen TV and a mini-fridge.

Purkey’s Fleet Electric of Lowell outfitted the trailer with six group 31 AGM rechargeable batteries and a 1,800-watt inverter, and the trailer can operate unplugged for up to eight hours.

Howerton said he also plans to install a coffee maker and cookie oven.

The mobile meeting space provides an opportunity for clients to meet outside of stuffy offices and is a testament to the company’s creativity and culture, he added.

WhyteSpyder is a business-minded marketing firm that focuses on making money for its corporate clients with revenue upward of $10 million a year, but the mobile meeting space is meant to show “it’s OK to have fun and be fun,” Howerton said.

WhyteSpyder surpassed $1 million in revenue in 2014 and almost doubled its employee base to 22.
