This year’s Cyber Monday turned out to be historic for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. The retailer announced that the online sales event was its biggest, as shoppers viewed more than 1.5 billion pages on Walmart.com between Thanksgiving and Dec. 1.

The five-day period, dubbed by Walmart as The New Black Friday, was supported by Cyber Monday Evening Edition, which offered deals at convenient times for workers and Millennials. According to Walmart, mobile accounted for approximately 70 percent of traffic to Walmart.com during the sales window.

“We worked hard to bring amazing deals to our customers on Cyber Monday and they responded by driving our Cyber Monday volume to a new, all-time high,” said Fernando Madeira, president and CEO, Walmart.com.

Top-selling items included the Apple iPad mini 16GB and the LG 49-inch HDTV.

Cyber Monday was also Walmart’s biggest day ever for same-day pickup, with orders increasing 70 percent over last year. Top-selling store pickup items included the 2014 Holiday Barbie Doll, Xbox 360 Special Edition Bundle with Call of Duty Ghosts and Call of Duty Black Ops 2, and the Nextbook Detachable Windows Tablet.
