San Antonio-based artist Vincent Valdez will talk about his series of large-scale paintings, The Strangest Fruit, which reference the lost history of the many Mexican and Mexican-American men who were lynched in Texas in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to draw attention to the bonds still hobbling Mexican-American men today, including poverty, incarceration, drug wars, lack of education, and racial profiling.
