Amerine Leaves UA Position
Jeff Amerine has left his position at the University of Arkansas as the associate vice provost of research and economic development and director of Technology Ventures at the UA Technology Licensing Office.
The change was effective Wednesday, according to an automatic-reply message from Amerine’s UA email address.
“The move is a very positive thing and my relationship with the UA has never been stronger,” Amerine replied in a text message to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal.
Amerine, also founding principal of Startup Junkie Consulting in Fayetteville, said he will continue teaching entrepreneurship classes at the Sam M. Walton College of Business as an adjunct professor.
Amerine joined the UA in 2008. His role was to implement effective strategies and methods that lead to commercialization of world-class research.
Jeannette Balleza Collins, director of programs at Startup Junkie, said the change will allow Amerine to focus more on the consulting firm.
