Rogers Business Shifts Ownership
A small business in Rogers has a new name and a new owner — sort of.
Drew Davis, owner of Rogers Natural Foods & Vitamins for 21 years, recently sold the business to Jim Canfield. The deal closed Oct. 17.
Canfield founded the store in 1973 and built its current location, a 4,500-SF, multi-tenant building at 310 N. 13th St., in 1983.
Canfield sold the building to Frances Ryan in 1990, and Ryan sold to Davis in June 1993.
“I had regretted ever since I sold it,” Canfield said. “I was at a point where I thought it might be of interest to look at again.”
Canfield said the total investment to acquire the business was approximately $150,000, which includes a slight remodel to the store. He also rebranded the business to Pure Vitamins & Vittles.
Davis, who lives in Fayetteville, still owns the building — he paid $247,500 for it in 1993 — and Canfield will have an option to buy after three years.
Davis, who said the business has an annual sales volume between $500,000 and $1 million, said he acquired a residential real estate license earlier this year and wanted to put more time into that occupation. He is now working for Fayetteville firm Bassett Mix & Associates.
Canfield said the business has four employees.
