Arkansas Sign & Banner Expanding to New Facility

Arkansas Sign & Banner has come a long way in seven years. But the next step in the company’s growth actually isn’t that far at all.

ASB owner Joe Conway is planning to relocate the business to a refurbished, 7,680-SF building less than a quarter of a mile from the company’s current address at 2107 S. Walton Boulevard in Bentonville.

Conway bought the building at 1914 S. Walton Blvd. — formerly Queen City Furniture — earlier this year from Dan Writt for $550,000 and the property is undergoing a renovation, led by contractor Tim Harrell with Triple Oaks Investments of Bentonville.

ASB currently shares a building and a parking lot with Dollar General. Conway, who has owned the business since 2007 with his wife Cindy, said ASB simply needs more space.

“We’re not building a monument to ourselves; it’s just crowded,” he explained. “We’ve leased the space for seven years. Initially we started with four [employees] and now we have 13. It’s to the point where we’re falling all over each other.”

Conway said ASB will occupy all but 1,500 SF of the building. The remaining office space will be available to lease.

The relocation should also afford additional opportunities for ASB to grow its business. The company offers a variety of commercial and custom graphic design services, vehicle wraps and sign installation.

“We’ll be able to hire some more people and get into some areas we haven’t been able to, simply because we haven’t had the space.”

When the $500,000 renovation is complete, Conway hopes to move into the building by Feb. 1.
Yume Rudinski with Architects 226 of Fayetteville is handling the design work and Bank of Gravett is financing the project.
