The Little Rock Port Authority Board elected Chris Mathews to the position of chairman. He will serve in this capacity until Aug. 2015.

Mathews was appointed to the Little Rock Port Authority in the summer of 2006.

Prior to assuming the role of chairman, Mathews served as treasurer and vice chairman.

He moved to Little Rock in 1995 after his employer, Vinyl Building Products of New Jersey, was successfully recruited with an aggressive economic development campaign offered by the State, County and City of Little Rock.

Under his leadership, the company made significant investments in buildings, equipment and job creation in the community over the next several years.

Mathews currently owns and operates two local businesses: National Custom Hollow Metal Doors and Frames (Formerly Bush Caldwell) and Maple Leaf Awning and Canvas.

“Coming full circle, from a being a successfully attracted economic prospect in 1995 to chairman of the Little Rock Port Authority is a remarkable and compelling story to share with future industrial prospects. Serving as chairman of the Little Rock Port Authority will provide a platform for me to tell industry about the things that make this community great,” said Mathews.
