Dickson Deal
Did you know Jimmy and Molly Rapert, longtime owners of the building that houses the popular Fayetteville nightclub Dickson Street Theater, recently sold the venue?
Ross Cully and partner Greg Billingsley, through CB Real Estate Holdings LLC, purchased the building, located at 227 W. Dickson St., for $630,000, according to a property deed dated Sept. 5.
T.J. Lefler represented the buyer and Brian Shaw brokered the deal for the seller. Both are with Sage Partners of Fayetteville.
However, right now, the new owners are staying mum about their plans.
“While we aren’t yet ready to go public with our plans, we are working on an innovative concept unique to this region and will be excited to announce the details later this year,” Cully said in an emailed statement. “We are thrilled to be a part of Dickson Street and hope to add to the excellent businesses and restaurants that are already in the downtown Fayetteville area.”
Cully also said the Dickson Street Theater is staying open — at least for now.
The 18 and up dance club, now run by tenants Wade Ogle and Benton Bandy, opened in 2001.
Rapert, also the namesake and original owner of JR’s Lightbulb Club on Block Street, has not been directly involved in the nightclub business since he sold JR’s several years ago, also to Ogle and Bandy.
When asked why he and his wife sold the Dickson Street Theater property, Rapert stated simply, “We’re ready to move on.”
Rapert, president of Bailey Park Properties LLC, is focused on building homes.
His latest projects will feature a new, eco-friendly building technique he says is considered to be the most efficient available.
