UA Law School Deemed Best Value in the Nation
The University of Arkansas School of Law ranked first this year in preLaw magazine’s list of Best Value Law Schools in the nation.
Schools were ranked based on average tuition, accrued debt, employment rate, bar-exam-passage rate and scores and cost of living.
According to the article accompanying the ranking, the magazine wanted to be sure to single out schools that “don’t burden with debt and do make them working lawyers.”
Private law schools were excluded from the list.
According to preLaw magazine, full-time tuition at the UA law school is $13,669, and cost of living is about $18,000.
The employment rate is listed at 84 percent, the same as the bar-passage rate.
It estimates students will leave with about $62,000 in debt.
The University of Arkansas Newswire reports the law school has made the top 20 list for the past four years, earning the second rank last year.
PreLaw magazine is a quarterly, California-based news source for legal education.
