The underrepresentation of women in math and science fields has been well-documented in the media during the last few years. Verizon has been airing a TV commercial that intimates social cues are to blame, and it is just the latest campaign that addresses the subject.
Jingyi Chen was one of about 200 chemists from throughout the world included in this year’s list of the most highly cited researchers, compiled annually by Thomson-Reuters.
It feels good to see any UA representation on such a prestigious list. The fact that it’s a woman in a science field is just icing on the cake.
