Fayetteville Hotel On Track For September Opening

Construction of a $12 million hotel near the Wedington Road exit in Fayetteville is nearing completion.
The Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center, a four-story, 115-room hotel, is on track to be open by Sept. 1. Officials broke ground on the 90,000-SF property July 23, 2013.
Jana McCarty, an executive administrative assistant for the developer, Krushiker Hospitality Group Inc. of Springdale, said the hotel could start taking reservations by the end of July.
Alex Jerde, a veteran of the hospitality industry in Northwest Arkansas, has been hired as the property’s general manager. Most recently, Jerde was the GM at the Chancellor Hotel in Fayetteville. He had been employed for two decades at that property, which had previously been flagged as a Hilton, a Radison and the Cosmopolitan.
First Security Bank in Springdale is financing the construction of the hotel, led by Sawatzky Construction Co. of Oklahoma.
