Cong. Womack Delivers GOP Weekly Address
Third District Cong. Steve Womack, R-Rogers, delivered the Republican weekly address from the downtown Bentonville square.
Womack, who only faces Libertarian challenger Grant Brand in November, used the forum to discuss the Fourth of July holiday and energy independence for the U.S.
“America’s greatness has always been rooted in our creative minds and entrepreneurial spirit, our ability to make things … to make the most of our resources, to control our economic destiny,” Womack said. “That’s why you see Republicans working so hard to capitalize on America’s energy renaissance.”
He touted support for the Keystone XL Pipeline, more plants, pipelines and transmission lines, and a more stable electricity grid.
“The opportunities seem endless, don’t they? But the usual politics, red tape, and government fixes that never seem to pan out stand in our way. For years, Washington has denied the American people the chance to seize their economic destiny,” Womack said. “Well, Republicans are fighting every day to make these opportunities possible again.”
