Astronomy Night at Hobbs State Park

by Talk Business ([email protected]) 88 views

Six times a year at Hobbs State Park, the Sugar Creek Astronomical Society presents instructional astronomy programs at the Park’s visitor center followed by night sky viewing.  The July 2014 gathering is sure to be a memorable one.
According to the group’s president, Jack McDaniel, “This month, the race is on.  Saturn is chasing Mars across the western night sky!
We don’t think giant Saturn will catch the nimble red planet.  Mars is relatively far away this year, so no surface features are visible in our telescopes, but Saturn and its glorious rings will be a sight to behold.  We might even be able to see the divisions in the rings, since we will have the advantage of a moonless night.”
