Ross Leads Hutchinson In Cash For The Fall
Asa Hutchinson and Mike Ross start their general election campaign for Arkansas Governor with healthy checkbook balances, but Ross leads in the cash-on-hand department.
Hutchinson’s May 11-31 primary contribution report showed he raised $112,809 during the 20-day period. For his general election report for the full month of May, the GOP nominee raised $116,779. Hutchinson also transferred $560,129 of carryover funds to his general election account from his primary account leaving him with $958,824 in cash-on-hand at the end of May.
Ross, the Democratic nominee for Governor, raised $129,210 in the primary reporting period between May 11-31. He raised $86,775 for his general election account during the entire month of May. Ross’ total cash-on-hand, which includes his carryover funds from the primary, totaled $1,632,540.
Hutchinson easily defeated Republican challenger Curtis Coleman in the May 20 gubernatorial primary. Ross handily dispatched his Democratic primary challenger Lynette Bryant in the May election.
Most of the other constitutional officer May contribution reports were not online at the Secretary of State’s office as of the end of day on Monday.
