Physics Entrepreneur To Speak At Start-up Series
Arkansas Venture Center board member James Hendren will share his experiences in start-up entrepreneurship as part of a Second Tuesday fireside chat series.
Hendren, co-founder of Arkansas Systems (now known as Euronet), is the chairman of Accelerate Arkansas and has been a leader in a number of entrepreneurial enterprises in Arkansas. Several of his companies have been acquired or spun off into public firms through Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).
A PhD in Physics from the University of Arkansas, Hendren played a key role in developing anti-ballistic missile systems tests. His code eventually became what was known as “Star Wars,” and today serves as a critical component to NORAD’S long-range radar orbital object tracking program.
The “Build IT” speaker series starts at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, June 10 at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. His talk will center on challenges, opportunities and lessons learned while starting and growing companies.
